Diet recommendations after breast cancer surgery

Diet recommendations after breast cancer surgery: Professor Akim Bouterra's advice, complemented by what research says (cancer, zinc, and vitamin C), the precautions to know, and our resources to go further.

First, a person who has undergone surgery for breast cancer should favor hive products, especially royal jelly. This is very effective in supporting recovery after surgery. Next, they should follow a diet rich in fresh vegetables, such as carrots, beets, or broccoli.

Juices like orange juice, rich in vitamin C, will be a good ally. Vitamin C can also be found as a dietary supplement in acerola. It will also be good to take three spirulina capsules three times a day. Furthermore, magnesium will provide support in the recovery process.

It can be found in honey, walnuts, almonds, or brown rice. Germanium is very effective for someone who has had cancer. It can be found in garlic, ginseng, or the Chinese mushroom called "reishi," which is available in ampoule or capsule form.

Germanium is particularly remarkable for improving the bioavailability of oxygen at the cellular level, especially in disrupting cancerous cells.

In addition, it is recommended to consume selenium and amino acids, which can be found in grains such as barley or oats. Finally, it will be good to consume polyphenols for their anti-cancer action. These are present in green tea, fruits, and vegetables.

What the science says: cancer, zinc, and vitamin C

What the published research says about the remedies mentioned above, for reference only — the studies focus on material causes, while healing belongs to Allah.

Cancer: supporting without replacing

Diet plays a role in preventing several cancers according to an umbrella review of meta-analyses (Nat Commun, 2021); curcumin, black seed, and medicinal mushrooms are studied as complements to treatment (Int J Mol Sci, 2024) (Molecules, 2023), and the Mediterranean diet supports patients. Precaution: no natural remedy replaces cancer treatment; certain plants and high-dose antioxidants can interfere with chemotherapy — any course should be decided with the oncologist. The Sagesse au Naturel practice offers complementary cancer follow-up.

Zinc and vitamin C

Zinc, vitamin C, and immune-supporting plants are studied for preventing colds and flu; a synthesis of Cochrane reviews looks at what actually works (J Integr Med, 2021). Zinc taken at the first symptoms shortens a cold; vitamin C is mainly useful for people who are deficient or under intense physical strain. Precaution: zinc at a high dose for a prolonged period causes nausea and copper deficiency — keep courses short; natural vitamin C (citrus fruits, kiwi, parsley, acerola) is preferable to megadoses.
