Remedies for liver cancer

Remedies for liver cancer: the guidance of Professor Akim Bouterra, complemented by what the research says (liver, cancer, black seed (Nigella sativa)), the precautions to know, and our resources to go further.

Liver cancer is a degenerative condition of an organ or tissue in which cells transform in an uncontrolled way; the immune system can no longer recognize these cells as foreign bodies and cannot fight them.

Before anything else, fish should be emphasized in the diet. Nutrition will play a major role in healing, and vegetables such as asparagus or celery should be favored, along with antioxidants such as beta-carotene, which is found in carrots, for example.

Next, we should mention honey, which should be pure, and which will strengthen the liver. It can be combined with propolis, royal jelly, and bee bread. Each morning on an empty stomach, you should take a large spoonful, and the same in the evening.

Next, we must not forget black seed (Nigella sativa), which comes from the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ, and as he said, "it is a remedy for every illness," including cancer. Black seed can be taken in all its forms: in its natural form, as seeds, at a rate of one small spoonful each morning; as oil, massaged over the liver area; as an herbal tea, in tea bags; as a cream; as an organic soap; or as capsules, at a rate of three per day before meals.

You can add the Chinese mushroom "reishi" to the black seed in order to boost the immune system. Preferably, it should be used in liquid form, or otherwise as a powder to mix into juice or yogurt. It can also be found in capsule form.

In order to restore the intestinal flora, probiotics should be used.

In addition, the liver needs certain plants such as milk thistle, artichoke leaves, dandelion, or black radish. These plants can be found in liquid form, as herbal teas, as capsules, or as vials. You should choose the form that suits you best, and follow courses of at least three months, to be repeated for six months out of the year.

Furthermore, hijama (cupping) is apparently an excellent prophetic remedy, and should of course be performed by a professional. However, be careful not to do it while in a weakened state.

Garlic is also an excellent anti-cancer food, and ideally one should consume a minimum of three cloves a day.

Finally, black or green tea will be a good preventive treatment, and you can drink it regularly.

What the science says: the liver, cancer, and black seed (habba sawda)

Here is what published research says about the remedies mentioned above, offered as additional insight — these studies address material causes, while healing belongs to Allah.

The liver

Silymarin from milk thistle improves liver markers in fatty liver disease and various liver conditions according to meta-analyses (Ann Hepatol, 2024) (World J Gastroenterol, 2017); the Mediterranean diet (olive oil, vegetables, fish) reduces liver fat (Clin Nutr, 2022). Artichoke, black radish, rosemary, and dandelion are the traditional liver-cleansing plants; fasting gives the liver a rest. Precaution: viral hepatitis or cirrhosis should be followed by a specialist; some plants are hepatotoxic (comfrey, celandine, kava) — do not improvise.

Cancer: supporting without replacing

Diet plays a role in preventing several cancers according to an umbrella review of meta-analyses (Nat Commun, 2021); curcumin, black seed, and medicinal mushrooms are being studied as complements to treatment (Int J Mol Sci, 2024) (Molecules, 2023), and the Mediterranean diet supports patients. Precaution: no natural remedy replaces cancer treatment; some plants and high-dose antioxidants can interfere with chemotherapy — any course should be decided together with the oncologist. The Sagesse au Naturel practice offers complementary cancer follow-up care.

Black seed (habba sawda)

The prophetic remedy par excellence, black seed is today one of the most studied plants: recent reviews detail its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and immunomodulatory properties, driven in particular by thymoquinone (Int J Mol Sci, 2024) (Asian Pac J Trop Biomed, 2013). Its effects on vascular inflammation have been the subject of a dedicated review (Front Pharmacol, 2021), and its action on immunity is documented (Int Immunopharmacol, 2015). Precaution: black seed oil is potent; at high doses it can lower blood sugar and blood pressure — use caution if you are being treated for diabetes or high blood pressure, and seek advice during pregnancy.
