For a child over two years old with sickle cell disease, a genetic condition that causes a shortage of red blood cells and severe anemia, oat and barley soups combined with honey are recommended first.
Dates, in the form of a compote, will also be very beneficial, as well as beet and carrot juices.
In addition, there is a plant that was once widely used by the Arabs, alfalfa, which is rich in protein and from which chlorophyll is extracted. Chlorophyll can also be found in powder form for children, and it should be given three times a day to cleanse the blood.
Finally, priority should be given to an intake of omega-3s, such as fish oil.
It is important to point out that these remedies do not conflict with medical treatments, and the treating physician should of course be informed of them.
What the science says: omega-3s
What published research says about the remedies mentioned above, for context — the studies address material causes, while healing belongs to Allah.
Omega-3s
Omega-3 fatty acids (fatty fish, flaxseed oil, capsules) reduce the risk of cardiovascular events according to a meta-analysis of 13 trials (J Am Heart Assoc, 2019), with a dose-dependent effect (Mayo Clin Proc, 2021); they also reduce joint inflammation (Arch Med Res, 2012) and are being studied for mood disorders (PLoS One, 2014). Precaution: at high doses they thin the blood — seek medical advice if you are on blood thinners or before surgery; choose a quality, non-oxidized oil.
