At first, hive products will be your allies if you are prone to anemia, especially honey (particularly jujube honey), propolis, royal jelly, or bee bread. Making an "immunity honey" with all these products will be very beneficial.
Beehives are fascinating, and Allah named a Surah "The Bees," where He shows us the greatness of His Creation, telling us that hives have dwellings. And indeed, some bees have real dwellings, which they built themselves, and which are true multi-story palaces. These can be observed in Asia or in Brazil. All products from the work of bees will be allies for people affected by severe anemia.
Furthermore, sea products such as spirulina and chlorella will be of great help in treating anemia. It will be good to combine this with vitamin C, particularly beet or carrot juice.
Finally, it will be important to consume an adaptogen, and the best ones are certainly Chinese mushrooms such as reishi, shiitake, or maitake.
What the science says: propolis, royal jelly and honeybee products, iron and anemia, fasting
Here is what published research says about the remedies mentioned above, for context — these studies address material causes, while healing belongs to Allah.
Propolis, royal jelly and honeybee products
Propolis, a resin gathered by bees, shows wound-healing effects confirmed by a meta-analysis on skin wounds (Arch Dermatol Res, 2023) and a benefit for oral health (J Funct Biomater, 2024). Like honey, these products are part of the apitherapy that the professor recommends to support immunity. Precaution: possible allergy to honeybee products (especially propolis and pollen) — start with small amounts; bee venom should only be used with a trained professional.
Iron and anemia
Iron bisglycinate effectively raises hemoglobin and ferritin with fewer digestive side effects than conventional forms (Nutr Rev, 2023); in children, the optimal dose and duration have been clarified (PLoS One, 2025), and in pregnant women supplementation is studied according to iron status (Acta Obstet Gynecol Scand, 2023). Red meat, liver, lentils, dates, and spirulina, combined with vitamin C, are sources of iron. Precaution: do not supplement with iron without testing — excess is harmful; space it apart from tea and coffee, which block its absorption.
Fasting
Fasting, prescribed and then recommended by the Sunnah (Monday-Thursday, the white days), is studied today under the name intermittent fasting: a BMJ meta-analysis shows favorable effects on weight and cardiometabolic risk factors (BMJ, 2025), with an impact on appetite (Nutrients, 2023) and body composition (Diabetes Obes Metab, 2024). Precaution: people with diabetes on insulin, who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or frail should adapt their fasting with their doctor — Islam permits, and sometimes requires, not fasting in case of illness.
