Remedies to help healing after a cesarean section

Remedies to help healing after a cesarean section: the professor's teaching, completed by what research says (wounds, burns, and scars), the precautions to know, and our resources to go further.

The Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ teaches us that the pharmacy of the hive can be very effective.

Among them we find honey as well as propolis, which today can be found in cream form. To heal wounds, we find castor oil and argan oil, a source of vitamin E and antioxidants.

What the science says: wounds, burns, and scars

What published research says about the remedies mentioned above, for context — these studies address material causes; healing belongs to Allah.

Wounds, burns, and scars

Honey speeds the healing of burns according to a meta-analysis (N Z Med J, 2009) and chronic wounds (Nutrients, 2024); aloe vera (Iran J Med Sci, 2019), propolis (Arch Dermatol Res, 2023), and rosehip oil (J Cosmet Dermatol, 2024) support skin repair. Precaution: a burn that is extensive, deep, or on the face, or a wound that is dirty or becoming infected, requires emergency care; honey and oils should only be applied to a clean wound.
