It is strongly recommended to take spirulina or another algae such as chlorella during the colon detox; three tablets a day will be enough.
Because as we know, during the detox one can face a loss of minerals, and spirulina will make up for that.
In addition, it is good to have three large tablespoons of honey, bee pollen, and bee bread in the morning.
And to round out the detox, take a small teaspoon of black seed oil in the morning and one before going to bed.
And of course, don't forget to drink plenty of water during this detox.
What the science says: detox and drainage, spirulina, irritable bowel syndrome, and bloating
Here is what published research says about the remedies mentioned above, for context — these studies concern material causes, while healing belongs to Allah.
Detox and drainage
The body "detoxifies" itself through the liver, kidneys, intestines, skin, and lungs: supporting these organs comes through fiber (Am J Clin Nutr, 2022), hydration, fasting (BMJ, 2025), liver-supporting plants such as milk thistle (World J Gastroenterol, 2017), and physical activity. Aggressive "cleanses" have no proven benefit and carry risks (Am J Gastroenterol, 2009). Precaution: no purges or enemas without medical advice, and no detox course during pregnancy; heavy metal "chelators" should only be used under prescription.
Spirulina
Spirulina improves the lipid profile according to a network meta-analysis comparing nutraceuticals (Pharmacol Res, 2022) and is among the supplements evaluated for weight (Pharmacol Res, 2023); rich in protein, iron, and beta-carotene, it supports people who are fatigued or deficient. Precaution: require a controlled source (risk of contamination by heavy metals or toxins); not recommended in cases of phenylketonuria or active autoimmune disease without medical advice.
Irritable bowel syndrome and bloating
Peppermint essential oil in enteric-coated capsules relieves irritable bowel syndrome according to meta-analyses (Aliment Pharmacol Ther, 2022) (J Clin Gastroenterol, 2014); soluble fiber (psyllium) and probiotics have also proven effective (Lancet Gastroenterol Hepatol, 2020) (Gastroenterology, 2023). Fennel, anise, cumin, and activated charcoal reduce gas. Precaution: charcoal should be taken apart from medications (it absorbs them); blood in the stool, weight loss, or nighttime pain call for a medical evaluation.
